Could Earl Ray Tomblin Become The Next U.S. Senator From WV

Is Earl Ray Tomblin Our Next U.S. Senator?
...

Inside sources at both the state capital and Senator Jay Rockefeller’s office confirmed to this author off the record that WV State Senate President Earl Ray Tomblin could be Robert Byrd’s replacement when the time comes. And, whether you like the man or not, he is very well qualified. Outside of the scrutiny that this news website has written about him, Tomblin has remained out of the crosshair sights of any official state or federal probes. Can the governor say that?
....
“Everyone expects Governor Manchin to step up and take Senator Byrd’s seat.” Explained one source. “No one is publicly considering that Earl Ray Tomblin may just be the man who ends up in Washington DC.” In reality, that is a very possible scenario and could be one reason Tomblin is keeping himself so low key and has even distanced himself from anyone who could portray him in a bad light.
....
The Good….
....
If you compare Tomblin against the governor, he is better qualified in every aspect of government experience. And, according to most statehouse officials & employees, “Earl Ray runs the state now.”
....
The Logan Standard Newspaper & the majority of residents in Logan County feel Tomblin is an “icon” and a hometown boy. A story published on February 18, 2008 states “There may be some folks that are jealous of what State Senator Earl Ray Tomblin has done for his native Logan County. But that's probably those in surrounding counties, that aren't getting the projects and funds they think they should.”
....
From bringing millions of dollars to the economic development in West Virginia, to what he has estimated to be “$2 billion for infrastructure and the School Building Authority.” When comparing his accomplishments in politics to those of Senator Byrd, one has to be impressed with what he has actually done for this state.
....
There are no facts or rumors floating around the state of any infidelities to his marriage or known extravagant spending of monies for airplanes, motorcycles or alcohol problems. Yes, his father has a felony record, but, as an e-mail to us from Tomblin stated, that is his father, not him.
.........
The Bad….
....
Over the past several months this website has exposed facts that show Earl Ray Tomblin is alleged to be involved in everything from cruelty to animals through his association with the families operation of their greyhound racing enterprise, to paying off bribe money to obtain passage of state legislation.
....
Then there is Tomblins possible illegal association with former lobbyist Roger White and Tri-State Casino owner Danny Adkins which raised questions of an alleged under the table payoff’s through “point enhancing,” to over pay selected greyhound racing association members from his father, Earl Sr. & Roger White, may be a focus of federal prosecutors.
....
He has been accused by some of his own colleagues of controlling & manipulating them to vote his way whether they believe it is the right decision or not. If you look at the numerous committee’s & chair positions Tomblin is a member of it is easy to see how he is able to control the day to day operation of the state. Is that illegal or unethical? We think so, but, according to the ethics committee (which he indirectly over see’s) it does not violate any state laws…..
....
The Ugly....
....
Neither Tomblin nor Joe Manchin is without their faults. Both have questionable dealings that may or may not be part of state and federal investigations. Both have allegedly used their power and influence for their own gain.
....
But, it’s our opinion that Manchin is more of the opportunist who is out for himself, family and friends, at the cost of the state & residents. Tomblin has actually done a lot of good for West Virginia.
....
Neither men will ever live up to, or be able to stand beside Senator Byrd as a politician, or for the numerous accomplishments that he made for this state over the decades in both state and federal politics.
....
In Conclusion....
....
Either Manchin or Tomblin will assume Senator Byrd’s seat in the U.S. Congress. When weighing out the experience & accomplishments from their alleged misdeeds, Tomblin is the clear choice. Tomblins bio actually reads like a man who has not only positioned himself in every possible seat of power in WV, but, also of a man destined for more then local state government has to offer. It does appear that “This small town guy, who has been successful, but never forgets his roots.”
....
Here is Tomblins biography. (taken from the WV State website)
....

Tomblin is the first West Virginian ever selected on this leadership track.
....
Its clear to see that Tomblins career is far from over. He will continue to support and serve the people of Logan County. And regardless of how far his political career may take him, you have to admit that he has not forgotten his roots in Logan County.

Of course he'll be the next Senator. No one I know thought the "Prince of Darkness" would be the one

It was thought Mojo would appoint a "seat holder" so he could run for the position at the next election. Tomblin wouldn't be so pliable as one of Mojo's lackeys. He wants power and Mojo couldn't extricate him from the U.S. Senate once he was in. If this is true, Earl Ray is exercising some power (extortion?) over Manchin.

A friend of mine just IM me and asked if I had seen the West Virginia News today, I said I had and they wanted to know why Joe the "POD" would not be the new Senator to replace Sen. Byrd. I said first of all the "POD" does not have the personal funding of ERT, secondly the "POD" has more skeletons in his closet than WVU Med School. Now I realize Mylan Puskar could take care of the "POD" , but he does not have the intellect necessary. All ERT has done is work in and manuver through the West Virginia Legislature. By the way ERT was not originally elected to the Senate, he was appointed.

It could be Shelley Moore Capito's if she wanted it. However, I believe she will go on to bigger & better in 2010, or 2012

Shelly Moore Capito, I don't think so. Arch Moore is a personal friend of mine, but their is no way she can get that seat.

"There may be some folks that are jealous of what State Senator Earl Ray Tomblin has done for his native Logan County."

Yeah, because all you have to do is drive through Logan Co. and just look at all the prosperity.
Downtown Logan is just like New York City.
Well, except for the business, buildings and streets.

How is it that the most powerful politicians in the state are from the poorest counties?

Come on Dude, the poorest county are you serious. Logan and most of the southern counties have more money in the ground, and have made more millionaires than any other place in the state. Our State has been robbed for years by the coal barons and the politicians they buy. I once asked a politician in Logan who happened to be a aquaintaince of mine why he had thrown one of his friends under the bus. His response was, hell he knew I was a snake when he picked me up. I thought how truthful that was and how repulsive.

Ask the citizens that live there how rich they are.
They're not gonna tell you about how many millions of dollars of coal are under the ground.
They're gonna tell you how many more years of payments they have on their mobile home.
That's prosperity?

I was at a Christmas party recently and someone said that the cost of a car made in the USA was high because of the union payrate. So I asked him how many rich auto workers he knew, then I asked him how many rich coal miners knew. He said he didn't know any such people. I pointed out that the workers are not responsible for the price that follows. How many rich auto dealers do you know and how many rich coal operaters do you know. I personally know several and they are all Chicken Shits.

POLITICIANS, LOBBYISTS, GREYHOUND ATROCITIES, BRIBERIES, FRAUD, RAPING THE WILDERNESS....EARL RAY TOMBLIN ALONG WITH THAT ASS ROGER D. WHITE, AND WHOEVER ELSE IS INVOLVED WITH ALL THE UNDERHANDED, SLEAZE AND CORRUPTION, WILL BE EXPOSED.
HIS DADDY WENT TO PRISON; HIS MAMA IS AN ANIMAL ABUSER WHICH IS ALSO CRIMINAL; AND THEY ALL ARE TAKING MONEY UNDER THE TABLE.
THE APPLE NEVER FALLS FAR FROM THE TREE.
DADDY + MOMMY = CRIME

It is ridiculous that Earl Ray Tomblin is categorized as some kind of "icon". A lot of people in corrupt schemes bring a lot of money to town, Mafia included. This brings in other huge problems with abuses of power, drugs, prostitution, etc.
The fact his marriage is still working just goes to show you that maybe the "whirligig" works on people, too. The woman wouldn't be fool enough to leave.

"...he has not forgotten his roots in Logan County". Obviously , when he is hitting the Governor for a two million track for Greyhound Racing for his "Daddy", his "Mother" will remind him.
The cookie jar is easily here and always wide open. Why would he ever leave? He's a criminal on the take.

No-one in their right mind would EVER elect an animal abuser and someone bilking companies and for years! On top of that, BOTH parents are indeed, criminals. You think Earl Ray Tomblin is a "nice guy"?
I suppose they thought Hitler was , too!

It's funny and sick at the same time. Both Joanne and Earl Ray involved in "Education". Both play the game of "upright citiizens". Both belong to some "Presbyterian Church. We wonder if the Church really knows who you are or if they still prefer to ignore it.
Unfortunately, nobody believes you in Logan or anywhere else on the map. It's gone on far too long.
The "fear factor" will not work anymore. We have absolutely nothing to gain, being quiet.
There will be a change "of Guard".
