According to Megan, she wasn’t lured to Big Creek in Logan County in 2007. She left freely with Bobby Brewster, Alisha, George and Karen to go to a party. "That night, Bobby Brewster came to Carmen Williams (mother) home at 216 Stockton Street and they smoked drugs together, then went to the store. Then Brewster and Carmen returned. He had sex with my sister Shayla, and then he left for a while and came back with the others in his car. We all left together"… Megan Williams on the night of the alleged kidnapping.

The Truth Behind It All As most of America remembers, it was late 2007 when twenty year old Meagan Williams, pictured to the left with her adoptive mother Carmen, was allegedly lured to a party by a female acquaintance named "Christa" who then supposedly left her alone at a trailer on Big Creek to become a week long hostage and unwilling sex slave to 6 white racists in Logan County.

Now, according to Megan, in this exclusive interview with WV News, "there never was a Christa... I left with Bobby Brewster and the others and drove from Charleston to Big Creek. They invited Shayla and me to a party but she didn’t want to go." Megan also stated to this author more then once, "it wasn’t a hate crime, and they never made me eat any feces or perform oral sex on the women either." Why did she contact us? Two recent stories we wrote, one about Al Sharpton and the other on the New Black Panther Party. Megan said both groups exploited her assualt.

Why is she now refuting crucial facts in this horrendous rape-torture case? "I have always been so terrified of my adopted mom Carmen Williams, and she threatened me if I told the truth. Now that she is dead, I want to tell everyone the truth. She beat my sister and me all the time. My step dad (Mathew) made me have sex with him and they made me prostitute for money when I was young." In 2008 Megan fled to Columbus with her sister after she alleges Carmen came into the Pizza Hut where she worked and demanded money. When Megan refused, she said Carmen came behind the counter and dragged her out into the alley and brutally beat her.

This author also spoke several times with Megan’s guardian, Valencia Daniels, in Columbus Ohio where both Williams women now live. She verified what Megan was saying and stated Carmen had even called several times to Ohio threatening Megan "to keep her mouth shut" when she found out what Megan was saying really happened in Logan County and Charleston.

"She called Megan a retarded bitch and that she better shut up about it all." Ms Daniels, who’s known throughout Columbus as "Mama Dogg," drove to Charleston in June of 2008 to help Megan and her sister leave after Carmen areportedly assaulted her daughter "It was terrible what they were going through with their adopted mom and dad. Also, Megan has never seen any of the money that was donated to help her." She also said, "Even the laptop computer that was a gift from the Montel Williams show was sold by Carmen to buy crack cocaine."

She states that they beat and tortured her but never made her eat rat droppings and drink from the toilet as was reported. She admitted being doused with hot water, choked and stabbed seven times.

At the time, Logan County Sheriff W.E. Hunter said that in his 30 years of law enforcement, he’d "Never seen anything like this. It’s something that would have come out of a horror movie." Others said, "The depravities and atrocities done to this young woman is nothing short of sick, perverted and sadistic."

When asked how she is doing today, her voiced cheered up and she said, "Tell everyone I’m doing really good and I am really healthy." Valencia Daniels confirms the progress both women have made since moving to Ohio in 2008. "Megan is doing great. She is very happy now." Both Megan and Shayla receive social security benefits for their mental impairments. The worthless check charges against Megan in West Virginia have reportedly been paid in full according to Daniels. "I paid them off along with help from some friends here in Columbus."

As for the convictions against her attackers, Logan County prosecutors promised they would take those charges to fullest extent of the law. In fact, prosecutor Brian Abraham went on record stating that they would not seek hate crime charges because it "carries only a 10-year prison sentence while a state kidnapping count could sentence a suspect to life in prison." But, when it all came down for trial, prosecutors forgot their promise to Megan and everyone else. In the end, all the defendants were allowed to plead guilty to lessor charges and prison time then anyone anticipated. Especially Megan, who was under the impression all of them would be gone for a long, long time.

In Closing, to speak with Megan Williams you come away with the sadness that this young women was constantly being tortured and abused long before she traveled to Big Creek in Logan County. Both Shayla and Megan have been victims most of their lives by the two adoptive parents who should have been protecting them. Carmen Williams only came to her daughter’s aid when the media and opportunities arose to possibly benefit to what happened.

According to Megan, Carmen lied and manipulated everyone and instigated racial tensions.

Shayla and Megan were terrified of their adopted parents. Enough so, that Megan was scared to tell exactly what happened to her, both at home, and at the hands of her six assailants. It’s only now, that she feels no more threat exists. Why? Because, Carmen Williams died in June 2009. I spoke to Megan and her sister on other occasions before she moved to Columbus OH. So, I knew that is who I was speaking to for this story. The identity of her current "caretaker" was verified though her local work in the Columbus Ohio area.
Its is all coroberated by the media in Columbus.
Former Logan County prosecutor Brian Abraham called the recantation absurd.[10] Williams' current attorney Byron L. Potts said Williams now claims that she lied in 2007 because she wanted to get back at her boyfriend, Bobby Brewster. Potts called on the prosecutors to reconsider the case. Brian Abraham the prosecutor in the case said they realized in 2007 that they could not rely on statements by Williams who tended to embellish and exaggerate and built their case instead on statements by the defendants and on the physical evidence.
