President Of MSNBC Must Be Overlooking Al Sharptons Use Of The Media For His Racial Rhetoric Over The Past 30 Years by Jack SwintAccording to an announcement by MSNBC President Phil Griffin, Al Sharpton (pictured to the left) has been named as its new host of “PoliticsNation,” a nightly program airing weeknights live at 6 p.m. ET on MSNBC. Sharpton will lead a “lively and informed discussion of the top headlines, bringing viewers his take on events in his signature style.”
In response, Sharpton says he is “very happy and honored to join the MSNBC team as we collectively try to get America to ’Lean Forward.’ “It is a natural extension of my life work and growth. We all learn from our pain and stand up from our stumbling and one must either learn to lean forward or fall backwards. I'm glad they have given me the opportunity to continue my forward lean.”
Wait one minute…Is this not the same Al Sharpton, who since at least 1987 has used the media to actually embellish and or fabricate racist motivated civil unrest?
Looking Back On Sharptons Long Career In The The Media
In 1983 the television show HBO's Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel showed an FBI videotape in which Al Sharpton is seen talking about laundering drug money with former mobster Michael Franzese, a Mafioso-turned-undercover-FBI informant posing as a cocaine dealer. Sharpton said it was the government’s total “attempt to set up and criminalize black people.”
Most people do not remember the case of 15 year old Tawana Brawley in 1987 when Sharpton appointed himself her adviser and media spokesperson as she accused a gang of white men of raping her. Sharpton claimed he knew for a fact that officials, all the way up through state government, were trying to cover up for the defendants because they were white. A media blitz also focused on Sharptons unfounded truths that Ducthess County NY district attorney Steven Pagones was a white racist devil who was actually one of the rapists.
In the end, Brawley admitted she made it all up. Al Sharpton was nowhere to be found.
Then there was the Crown Heights riot of 1991 and a 1995 arson attack on a Jewish Harlem jeweler that resulted in 8 deaths after Sharpton called for the removal of “white interlopers” and “bloodsucking Jews” from Harlem. He also compared then state Attorney General Robert Abrams, a Jew, to Adolf Hitler. He also claimed that former Governor; Mario Cuomo was in organized crime and the Ku Klux Klan.
Not that long ago, Sharpton was again jumping to the forefront by racially uplifting the media coverage of the Duke University Lacrosse Team scandal and the Jena 6 story. In both cases, Sharpton was chief instigator in the media on how blacks were being the victims of white abuse and white injustice. He came straight out and incorrectly accused the Duke players of being racist and rapists of a black dancer during a party on campus. In the Duke story, his actions definitely caused racial tension and even death threats against the white athletes.
When the truth came out, the female accuser was lying. Once again, Sharpton was the main instigator of the racial tension. And again when it was found he was the wrongful accuser, he was nowhere to be found.
In 2007, Sharpton was the spotlighted spokesperson on yet another high profile case that allowed him to invoke his racist agenda. Megan Williams alleged that white men and women kidnapped, raped and brutalized her for days in the backwoods of West Virginia because she was black. Combined with claims of also being forced to eat feces, have sex with the females and held at knife point, had people across America stirred in a racial frenzy. The assailants were tried, convicted and sent to prison.
In July, 2009, Megan Williams admitted that there was no kidnapping, and no racially motivated crime. In fact, Megan admitted that all of the racial allegations were concocted by her mother in hopes of getting national media attention and money. According to her, Rev Al Sharpton also knew it was concocted, but still played the racial card for his own media agenda. Megan said she knew her alleged captors, and her mother had bought drugs from them in the past.
Once again, Al Sharpton disappeared to wherever it is he goes when the truth comes out.
Sharpton even managed to become one of the black spokesperson in the death of singer Michael Jackson. Most people are amazed that Sharpton hasn’t tried to blame Jackson’s death on the white man, saying it was a racist plot to stop the “king of pop” from making a comeback in his career. Ironically, it wasn’t that long ago that Sharpton chastised Jackson for “playing up to white folks” and accused him of wanting to be a “white man.” Now, he is singing Jackson’s praise as a black hero and the king of pop.
In Closing….
According to MSNBC President Phil Griffin, (pictured to the left) Al Sharpton is one of America’s most-renowned civil rights leaders. That his visible career began at the tender age of four when he preached his first sermon. A successful civil rights career soon followed, helping Sharpton hold such notable positions as the Youth Director of New York’s Operation Breadbasket.He was Director of Ministers for National Rainbow Push coalition, and founder of his own broad-based progressive civil rights organization, the National Action Network (NAN), one of the leading civil rights organizations in the world.
In reality, Sharpton is NOT a civil rights leader or activist. What history does show us to be true about him is that whenever the opportunity arises, he is out there keeping racism alive by creating false accusations against every ethnic group in society. His only agenda is to insight unrest, violence and racial terror across the entire country just to get into the spotlight and promote his own agenda. And when the truth surfaces and his accusations of racism don’t exist, Sharpton disappears without comment.
Here is a FACT on Al Sharpton. He has never once apologized in the past 30 plus years for the numerous false accusations he has knowingly, willfully and intentionally made against anyone that he has falsely accused. He never apologized for his part in inciting the Crown Heights riots or the families who lost their loved ones in the 1995 arson attack on a Jewish Harlem jeweler that resulted in 8 deaths.
Giving this man a free microphone and platform on national TV will ultimately reverse the decades spent mending the issue of racism that all Americans have been trying to put behind us. This new opportunity for Sharpton from MSNBC will ultimately cause a backslide in our strides to keep going forward to get beyond the past.
